Formed in late 2008 as a response to trilby-wearing mainstream guitar music, Gun Crime are a gutsy collaboration of Tyron Clarke’s crunching, urgent guitars and Luke Day’s aggressive, unhinged drums. With both members sharing vocal duties while skipping through time signatures for fun the resulting sound verges on the bipolar – swinging between danceable hooks and full-on metal riffs. Bold, loud and uncompromising, it is as a live act that Gun Crime truly come into their own. As original as they are striking, this is a band that have ripped the angular sound from the sticky floors of indie clubs across the country and combined it with a true hardcore ethos and a commitment to fresh ideas. With a ferocious, visceral brand of noise and a catalogue of frenzied early gigs, including a slot at Club NME, these two alt-rock weirdo’s have already picked up a dedicated fan base among fellow artists and gig-goers alike – one that is sure to keep growing as this exciting new talent progresses.
